Hi, I am Parker

I want to make your business process visible (easy to improve). I want to find and fix the slowest part in it, offering you greater capacity and yield. What I really want to do is make your organization World-Class:

We do this through a structured, collaborative, visual, process designed to ease employee pain while remedying organizational bottlenecks,

In 90-day cycles of continual improvement this this method:

M4:

  • Map your process
  • Measure how long it takes
  • Manage more effectively
  • Mobilize your people

My reason why:

People are entitled to Joy in Work:

All I have ever wanted to do at every job was contribute using my unique talents, serve the client well, and improve my working conditions. Is this really too much to ask?

Why this flies in the face of most entrepreneurs? Is the system nearly broke? Is my introversion? idk but my

Mission:  Helping CEOs become aware of how their thinking is holding them back from their biggest opportunities. I know my thinking is holding me back. Do you? It isn’t just me: I say 80% of all

Employees are treated like garbage. Expected to Innovate. Blamed for poor results.

How else is innovation even possible in this scenario?

In case it is not glaringly obvious;

There is a better way to leverage human capital in these times of uncertainty

Would it be crazy to Thinking Different for a moment?

When considering people, human capital, our human potential,

How I see it:

World-class organizations are those who believe the heart of business is pursuing a noble cause, putting people at the center, and creating an environment where you can unleash human magic.

Our aim: To learn, have fun, work together, make a difference and for Everyone to gain.

My mission:  Flipping the script on Management Theory.

Why? Because a well-run business lifts everyone it touches:

“The consequences of management decisions ripple outward across time.  What begins as a choice today shapes prosperity, trust, and opportunity for generations to come… Just as it did in 1946; when we (U.S.) began its slow descent into the exaggerated quality of the product and services we obtain and provide each other.” (improve quality, costs decrease).

Your mission, if you choose to accept it:

At least test it for the next 5-8 weeks: Thinking Differently:  Long-term.  Collectively.  Engage your team in structured dialogue:  Collaborative visualization.

Like our ancestors did on caves walls when strategizing how to kill the tiger, able to move through time and place without fear (just remove the barriers).

There are 3 ways to get started:

Remember:

Our Aim:

Have fun, learn, work together, make a difference, and for Everyone to gain.

Option A:

Systems of the Systems (SoftS)

The overall big picture map

Your leaders and I sketch out your core process;

Chatting about each one, their functions, supporting elements…

How they contribute to your overall goals.

Armed with a quick map, I am asking these leaders where it hurts

Using 3 – 5 red dots, they pinpoint that part of the process, then

We then rank choice vote, identifying your top challenges.

If this is all you want, that’s okay

Give me another half hour (getting to a better stopping point)

In one (1) week you have a digi-phy map

A digital and/or physical navigational tool you can link through

And/or

Hang on the wall.

You got options.

Option B: 90-min virtual sessions:

If you are going to do this, why not commit 7 weeks or so?

Now that we have identified WHERE to start,

Let us dig in

Breaking into smaller groups (departments)

Each week working with folks on your team

Mapping out core actions for ONE major process; one part of a

High level, action-results, task map, that everyone can see

[you cannot fix what you cannot see]

Keep in mind, the folks we are bringing together,

Are going to be the ones doing the work.

They are the ones “making the sausage,”

Interacting with clients,

Could be managers, definitely the FRONT of the HOUSE,

aka the Believables! (They, unlike CEO, know the process, the HOW)

The human capital we typical fail to leverage to any worthwhile capacity,

Typically 20%

After WE map the process,

Again, I am asking them:

Where does it hurt?

Not WHO, or what resource  are you lacking?

WHERE?

Where do you feel challenges in the process?

Remember,

We are looking at the core of your company,

Its process:  Lead to cash, using current data,

Building you these big process maps,

Explaining work flow

Some 20-foot-long map you can hang on the wall,

So, everybody can see it

Reducing Confusion, miscommunication, pain and barriers in the process.

In the background I am doing some analysis

What are people saying about the process?

How does that compare to other processes?

We will engage in structured dialogue.  In the end

Based on our conversations, your budgets, your intention, and what we have exposed,

I will create an analyst report, and

Begin drafting proposals for you

Various ways you may consider moving forward

This can be a lot of different ways

Maybe by gaining an internal practitioner? Would it be better for you if you have your own team certified in this method? (continual improvement…)

For huge or recurring projects, maybe we train a few of your people how to do quick mapping? They send me a rough map, I clean it up and do the analysis?

Maybe we hit pay dirt and have to revisit a certain process 4 or 5 times in the next six months?

Again,

You have options.

This is customized based on you, your budget, your needs.

How many weeks?  Depends.  Maybe 5-8?

We’ll know by week 2.

Afterwards, we will pause.

I have given you a 90-day action plan.

Come back next round with better problems.

Quit when you grow tired of increasing your capacity.

Option C:

The classic process triage workshop.

We do all 7 weeks in one day, old school, stickies on a wall, fully engaged, working together, shoulder to shoulder, NOT

This Face to Face, confrontational, negotiating stance on boring old zoom.  No

This is an event!

Where You Pause operations,

If you want to shift gears,

Do you really want to keep your foot on the gas?

A couple weeks after, I will turn the Day’s event into digi/phy map.

(Digital and/or physical)

Adding a new twist to this ancient form of communication,

Whether virtual or live:

I do some workshops, triage, issue processing, consulting and other elements.

And You, get to walk away with a list of proposals.

The big thing we do,

Is get that first map on the wall.

After Pinning the Pain, structured dialogue, and some analysis

Once we have all of that, it becomes really easy to create a plan

I will share my assessment, pitching it back to you with a few new ideas on moving forward

This is Step 1 in a 4 part process [M4]

MAP:  Physical maps of core processes in a central place to visualize relationships, patterns and moments creating opportunities to abstract and improve the work.

MEASURE:  Create system measurements of time, flow, fall-out, touches, utilization, capacity and empower people to collect this data and propose experiments to improve the results of the system.

MANAGE:  Move beyond command and control management that serves only to train and enforce accountability and instead empower the people in the system with tools to improve the system, taking joy in the ownership of their output and pride in the outcomes it creates.

MOBILIZE:  Redeploy your people as scouts on a mission to hunt down waste and inefficiency in their work and report back in a cycle of continual improvement.

Yes, it is expensive, however, you will soon find it is worth it.

You will end up with a high-level picture of your organization showing you exactly where you to improve.

May THIS improvement be continual.

It is a simple process.

A very simple process for improvement:

I am just there to facilitate,

To make it happen,

Keeping it simple and on track.

If you want your people to bend over backwards improving YOUR business,

Give them a reason.

Remember, “People are entitled to Joy in Work”

Remember: Dr. W. Edwards Deming

Joy in Work:

This is exactly what I aim to deliver,

Through my method for systems design

People want quality.

Let us give it to them.

Better now, than later…

Whenever that is,

Simple: Improve 1% every day.

Challenge: Overcoming the paradigm of Western Management. (19k)

Each week includes:

  • 90 min session with your team
  • 60 min prep work with you
  • 5+ hrs my labor behind the scene
  • Deliverable: Live AR map: Navigating processes with links, legends editability. Making it as Joe says; ELF: easy, lucrative, fun

My Guarantee:

This is an answer to many questions: 0, 1, ∞

Pretend this is an urgent matter. You have 10 seconds to decide a life-changing event. There are only three (3) possible answers: 0, 1, or ∞

  • 0: You get nothing out of this
  • 1: You gain a little bit
  • ∞ Infinite potential, paths, possibilities,

Remember, we’re talking about Human Capital here

Since “You cannot fix what you cannot see”

Remove the fear, pain, barriers, etc.

96% of your minions are either too tired, too scared, or lack a structured method for speaking up:

As Toad, Hitler, Gas Man, Rene, Dickinyason nearly discovered:

The vexing enigmas plaguing organizations today, exist because we give people a title, more passcodes, then little more than a pat on the back. Too many managers are born this way…

Trust me or not. This here is the happy path;

A Marvelous and Unique gift, if not from God, definitely a humble individual using it to transform a Titan in Telecommunications, helping them generate some $300M. Believe it or not, AR Mapping is working for me. I got a hunch it will work for you to.

Take some Thinking Time if you have to. Start pondering:

How you want to be remembered?

The Process Fixer

Expect 10-30% capability improvement by week 7

We measure time and heartbeat (cash cycle)

My reason why: The Aim (helps to have one):

Unofficially: To improve U.S. Philosophy of Western Management before it kills us all.

Officially: To learn, have fun, work together, make a difference and for Everyone to gain.

You should never have to guess what is breaking your operations. Nor gamble on a consultant leaving you binders instead of results.

Clarity & Control Guarantee:

If you do not walk away from the AR Modeling with:

  • Clear process map
  • Prioritized fix-it list
  • Renewed team alignment

Do not pay a dime. If I cannot make it right, keep the map. Expect a refund of current and past week. Then we part ways. In other words: Quit any time. Hassle free.

(Just remember: You can always stop playing. Whenever you get tired of making money, be sure to complain…)

In your service,

Parker W

P.S. Again, I have another policy contingent on working with me:

Afterwards, if you enjoyed doing business with me, within three (3) months, I ask that you give me two like quality referrals.  If this is uncomfortable for you, this is fine, however I would ask for a small surcharge.  Referrals are my livelihood.

Instead of dividing my attention, investing a premium for marketing and new sales, then passing those costs on to you, my aim is to continually improve my service to you. Focusing on innovative, transformational ‘Actions that get the kind of ‘Results you daydream about, by

Remember Deming. Dr. W. Edwards Deming. (PDSA)

Was he shunned for berating Management

If you are a CEO, you don’t know how the sausage is made, do you?

Can you point to the wall and show me your best practices?

Without people secretly laughing?

Here is what I think we can do:

For best results, let me illustrate this:

Design a map where it would be impossible for employees to make a mistake!

Because, if a mistake had occurred, like an army scout, they would be the first pointing out the flaw in your system

All you got to do is sit back and watch what I call the Believables improve your system.

Trust me, it is that simple.

In other words:

Drop the barriers

Drive out the fear

Start over

Reread that.

Say that again to yourself,

Then keep reading:

Because A Well-Run Business Lifts Everyone It Touches

Hi,

I am Parker

Son of Quanah (named after Quanah Parker)

Fixer of Process

Improver of Business

Ambassador and Cohort of The Process Fixer

With a story about our approach to Management here in the Western World:

It is ass backwards.

Exactly Backwards

People are entitled to Joy in work

How else do we Innovate? (if not by leveraging people, their wisdom, capabilities, knowledge of your process… Yet with AI, we cut people out of the equation. Exactly backwards. Just in case you are wondering why there is 95% failure rate of corporate AI application..)

Here’s what I got for you:

1 tool, 3 options, followed by a triaged list of remedies to your most vexing (company) issues.

If you are interested, Great!

If not, oh well. You know where to find help, right?

Because, Listen, I really am concerned.

36 years ago Maniac Dave trained me at Duner’s.

We called him Maniac because he would do the work of two or three people

This was The LAST job paying me extra for producing more.

Go figure, I have never been in sales, but I have working in Charlottesville ever since…

As eager as I am to share my story,

My goal:

Improve the Quality of output your business provides

“For the sake of our community”

Serious. All of us… That’s why,

I am Introducing you to Derrick Mains

“The Process Fixer’s” M4 Method,

A new and exciting approach to operations

Better than a corporate wellness check;

The only pill to swallow: Making your system visible.

Why not? Right?

Start telling your company story in new light.

When you feel like Improving it:

Easy:

Image of three circles A B and C being moved around by an iconic hand

Armed with a map you can edit, you can now navigate through time and place without FEAR,

Like our ancestors did on caves walls when strategizing how to kill the tiger,

If we are being honest:

(Read this in your S-L-O-W Late Night FM DJ voice)

Your employees cannot tell you the truth

Listen, all I am saying is:

You cannot fix what you cannot see?

Right?

Call me a sucker, but I prefer seeing Our World like the Jetsons, rather than the Simpsons… see “Ask Ed” page)

Image of Jetson's cartoon.
Our 1962 proclamation for now

Current state of affairs

We have to revise our Philosophy of Western Management before it kills us all!

My Strategy is simple:

My DIAGNOISIS: 94% of American companies have no idea how to leverage their human capital. Odds are; 94% of your focus is on things with 6% maximum impact potential.  Operating, as I call:  Exactly Backwards. Yes, 80 years of the Cobra Effect has Us twisted up like a snail.  You might have a tall ladder, but its 175 years old.

For my GUIDING POLICY: America desperately needs the Deming philosophy. That means, you MUST learn about Dr. W. Edwards Deming. He’s the Godfather of Optimization, for Pete’s sake, at least remember his name. Deming said start your process improvement with a flow diagram, so

Leading into our COHERENT ACTIONS as Richard Rumelt (Good Strategy, Bad Strategy) puts it: Which is what we are talking about here (M4. Process Triage.  Collaborative visualization.  AR Mapping.)

A tool helping y’all visualize your system so you can improve its workflows.

Listen, my purpose in life is to find a better way and share it: And here it is:

A simple process for navigating a complex world:

About Dr. W. Edwards Deming, Derrick Mains “The Process Fixer” and the M4 methodology (namely process triage). This is a must watch.

Learn all you can about Deming. About enriching society through his philosophy. “His” approach to management has transformed our world in many ways… so common we take them for granted.

Yet, his work remains largely ignored here in the U.S.A. This is a real tragedy. Doesn’t have to be. We can fix it quick. But, that DEMANDS you take at least one minute with AI to discover why his work is more important today than ever before…

Derrick Mains is an author, podcaster and YouTuber offering some incredible Deming based content about operations. He is the proprietary owner of the M4 process:

For more information on this process, see Step 1 in top or bottom menu.

Or, search The Process Fixer on YouTube, Google or by Podcast.

All my life I have been quietly struggling with the tyranny of modern management.

Until I discovered Deming, I never had words to adequately describe the oppressive nature of it. Call it limbic, gut instinct… For example

I would watch friends be given a new title, passcodes or keys, and with nothing more than a pat on the back; start barking orders as if their training on managerial know-how somehow meant this was the only manner to do right in the eyes of YOUR CLIENT.

Process mapping with its triage method is a win-win process for giving employees a say (a chance) at improving their working conditions.

While the CEO gets to sit back and watch it unfold:

People working together, Improving Your Business.

I am thrilled to have discovered this process, adding yet another layer of capability, thinking and design to the arsenal.

May this become my “Overnight Success” story!

It is with great pride, that I identify as a:
